Poems I have written...
I am not a poet, but once in a while
I get the urge to be creative and
write a poem. Here are some of
the ones I have written.
Butterflies.....
Like a butterfly
emerging from its cocoon
So must we peel away the layers
of our existence
One layer at the time, until we
find the "I" of our being
And discover that we are one with
the "All."
What If.....
What if I could touch the moon,
would it be as it seems?
Would it explode in my hands, destroying
my dreams?
Or carry me on silver threads to
worlds I've never known?
Until I land on Epsilon, a star
I know is "Home".
What if I could linger there, until
"time anew" begins?
Could I be happy knowing more lessons
it will bring?
My heart would know I must
return, once more here to Earth
Until I'm pure in Spirit and Mind,
forever no more births.
(this poem was written with the
help of my e-mail friend Helen)
My Soul Sister...
Red roses for a Sister of mine
Remembering her from another time
Patiently she taught me things
Helping me to grow my wings
Supervising every little test
In my growing spiritual quest.
Again I found her in the Now
Teaching me lovingly how to grow
Together we learn to give and share
Both of us - quite a pair
And when we leave this earthly
home
Our lessons learned - we're not
alone.
Dolphins...
Creatures from the "Ancient Time"
With songs they hold the earth
in line
Linking the grid to the Universe
Warding off the reptilians' curse
Until the Photon Belt comes near
Their destiny fulfilled - they
disappear
Together with Mankind to another
Star.
Chameleon....
Chameleon, I have chosen as my name.
Changing colors is my game.
I blend in wherever I go
And my emotions I don't show.
It feeds my ego to lead you astray.
"Why don't they help me?" I silently
pray.
My pain well hidden by my colorful
masks,
I want to take them off - not an
easy task.
Yet I have faith that the day will
draw near
When I will shed that coat of fear.
Unmask the emotions and set me
free.
Shouting with joy: "Look, this
is the real me."
Desiderata.....
(My favorite poem, written by Max
Ehrmann in 1927)
Go placidly among the noise and
haste, and
remember what peace there may be
in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms
with all persons. Speak your truth
quietly and clearly;
and listen to others, even to the
dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to
the spirit. If you compare yourself
with others, you may
become vain and bitter, for always
there will be
greater and lesser persons than
yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well
as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career,
however humble,
it is a real possession in the
changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business
affairs, for the world
is full of trickery. But let this
not blind you to what
virtues there is; many persons
strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of
heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical
about love, for in the face of
all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering
the thing of youth. Nurture strength
of spirit to shield you
in sudden misfortune. But do not
distress yourself with
dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and
loneliness. Beyond a
wholesome discipline, be gentle
with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and
the stars; you have a right to
be here.
And whether or not it is clear to
you, no doubt the universe
is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive
Him to be. And whatever your labors
and aspirations, in
the noisy confusion of like, keep
peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and
broken dreams, it is still
a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
